Tunisian Doors
Tunisian doors are iconic and distinctive. While houses might be simple and unadorned, the craftsmanship of these wooden doors hinted at the wealth within. They are eye-catching decorated with metal studs and are often painted a vibrant blue that match the sky, but as you travel around the country you’ll notice that brown or yellow are also popular.
Doors leading to marabout (scholar of the Qur'an) mausoleums or public baths are painted red or green. The different colours and designs create lots of distinctly Tunisian photographic opportunities.
