A week of celebrations bring the ‘Jewel of the Mediterranean’ to London

Hotly tipped as one of the UK’s most sought after holiday destinations, Tunisia stakes its claim as a cultural hotspot with a week-long celebration of the country’s fascinating heritage.

Running from 24th - 30th March 2010, invited guests will be taken on a four-day cultural odyssey of Tunisian art, history, music and film.

Following the opening day ceremony at the prestigious Royal Geographic Society, visitors will be treated to a special performance of traditional Bedouin music, followed by a private screening of touching drama ‘Les baliseurs du desert’ (The Wanderers of the Desert).

“Tunisia offers holidaymakers far more than the sun, sea, sand and Sahara for which the country has become renowned” said Anissa Ramoundi, UK & Ireland Director, The Tunisian National Tourist Office.

“The cultural week offers a unique opportunity to bring our rich ethnicity into the heart of the capital, showing exactly why we are fast becoming the British public’s holiday destination of choice”.
